Missing in Action...

Well, I created the blog and then abandoned it! lol. We spent a couple weeks in Kentucky (4/4 to 4/18) which was amazing! My best friend, Maria, was about to give birth to beautiful Ella Grace and I didn't want to miss it! Chloe had to miss a couple days of school but we were well prepared and took her school work with us! Ella was born on April 7 at 2:21 in the afternoon. Her big brother was watching over her and his parents. He sent them snow that morning as a way of letting them know everything was going to be ok! We miss Andrew very much and are grateful he sent his mom and dad his baby sister! That was only one of the highlights of our trip! Easter also took place while we were there. It's not very often we are home for family dinners and such so we were really excited to participate in the egg hunt with all the kids! For Chloe, the biggest event was when she lost her very first tooth! She had been asking every day when the tooth fairy was going to come visit! Any day now was the only answer I could give her. Well on April 9 she was eating waffles for breakfast and it came out! Of course we had to take pictures and prepare to stick the tooth under her pillow. The tooth fairy was very good to her, bringing her $10! As soon as we got back to Sc we found out she has another one loose! I have a feeling the Tooth fairy is going to be making lots of visits to our house!

On the way back to Sc, we decided to detour to Gatlinburg, Tn. We are big fans of G-burg. There's always so much to do and Chloe loves to go there! We went to Wonderworks and were amazed at everything they have there. Then we played put-put golf and had a great dinner at one of my favorite restaurants- Cracker Barrel! Unfortunately we could only stay one night and headed home on Sunday, the 19th!

It's been really hard adjusting to being back home and getting back in our normal routine. We're all ready for summer and the pool =) Chloe's going to be going to soccer camp this summer for the first time and she's excited! We may also be going to Myrtle Beach with Brandon's family but that's still up in the air. Chloe's birthday is coming up in July and we're kind of stumped about what gifts to get her. The older she gets, the harder it is to buy for. I don't really want the typical dolls and such. I like fun and educational things. We may take her to the Zoo in Columbia as well. She really loves animals.

Today, as you know, is Mother's day! Happy Mommy's day to all you moms out there. I had a great day! Got a cute Dooney and Bourke purse, had dinner at San Jose (our favorite Mexican place) and almost got a speeding ticket! haha! I got off with only a warning. That in itself was a gift because I would have died if I would have gotten a ticket! We grilled out steaks and stuff and all in all it was a great day! Brandon got me a funny card (he always does) but this one made me cry =) I'm just so blessed to have him and Chloe!

To my mom:
I love you and I know we've not always seen eye to eye but you're always there for us any way you know how to be and I'm so very appreciative of that!

To Chloe:
Thanks for making me a mommy! I love you more and more everyday! I love to watch you grow into a smart caring young lady and I'm very proud to be your mom!

Well, I guess that pretty much catches you up on The Rutledge's =)
Until next time...
