I've jumped on the bandwagon. .

I decided to join the rest of the world and create a blog. I just wanted a place to document our lives. Even if it's something silly.

Chloe is growing up so fast. I want to be able to look back and read about what she's been doing and saying. She's outgrown her baby book so I figured this is the next best thing. Chloe is now in Kindergarten! You wouldn't believe the things she knows. They have learned patterns, charting, money, time, some presidents, Spanish, counting by twos, fives, and tens, and most importantly, reading! They do 'picture walks' which means they look at the picture and describe it. They have also been learning site words throughout the year so this makes it easier to read their books. She's a self-taught swimmer and absolutely loves the pool and anything outdoors. This summer we're going to tackle shoe-tying and riding a bike without training wheels! Wish us luck! Chloe is the perfect mix of Brandon and myself. She's just amazing.

Brandon's job has also been something that keeps us on our toes! It's amazing being a Marine wife. The pride you feel every time they put on that uniform or you hear the National Anthem. It brings a whole new meaning to the word patriotism. Chloe knows that her dad is a Marine but she's still too young to quite understand what it means and the sacrifices her dad, and all men and women in the military make for our country. We lived on MCB [Marine Corps Base] Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina from Dec. 2003 to Dec. 2006. We then PCS'd [Permenant Change of Station]to MCRD PI SC [Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina] in Beaufort, South Carolina. We've been here since Dec. 2006. We're supposed to be here until Oct. 2010 when Brandon gets out but the Marine Corps has other plans. We're scheduled to PCS to to Okinawa, Japan in August. We're not sure if we're going to accept those orders or not and Brandon has an ankle injury and if it doesn't heal, we won't be able to go anyway. Check back and I'll let you know how it goes! Well, I guess my first post is long enough! I hope you enjoy reading about my family's crazy life!
