I know... It's been a while!

The reason it's been so long is because we no longer have internet at our house. We have upgraded our cell phones to Blackberries so we cancelled our home phone and internet. I can do most things on my cell phone, but not my blog :)

I think my last post was of Chloe's birthday! Yes that was a while ago. Sorry! Since then Brandon has had his surgery. It's been almost a month now (July 20 was his surgery date). He's doing physical therapy twice a week and is progressing nicely. He's definitely come a long way in the past 4 weeks. The man is totally independent and to have someone wait on you hand and foot and literally (and I do mean literally! lol!) do everything for you, it can be a hard pill to swallow! I had to bath the man for Pete's sake! Anyway, his incisions have healed beautifully and he's getting more movement in his legs everyday! His mom, aunt, and 2 younger brothers came down for a couple days because this was Brandon's first time having surgery. So it was a big deal to his mom :) It was great having them here and wish they could have stayed longer. Brandon goes for his 6 week follow-up on Monday, Aug. 31 and that week he should be getting off crutches. He's for sure counting down the days! Just in time for his grandparents to visit!

Chloe started FIRST grade on Monday, Aug. 17! This was her third first day of school! She was so excited to see her friends and go to school! We are so blessed with her as our daughter! She also started her third season of soccer! Can't believe she's been in school and playing soccer for three years. The older she gets, the more fun and exciting things we get to experience with her! Our family just keeps getting better and better :) Anyway, her teacher is Mrs. Stephanie Turner. She seems really super nice but she's also strict which we love because Chloe gets the best of both. I like a teacher that sets boundaries from the beginning and sticks with them. But Chloe also already feels comfortable enough that she can go to her when something is wrong or she needs help with something. I hope this school year will be great like the last two! I think I mentioned before that Brandon is going to be Chloe's soccer coach. They had their first practice on Monday, as well. It's a little difficult with him being on crutches, but I think he's going to enjoy it! He loves sports and any time he can be active is a plus for him. His arms will be sore but it's worth it. Their first game is the second Saturday in September so he should definitely be off crutches by then! We're really excited to get back in the swing of things. Our routine is the same from August to June! I don't too much care about getting up so early but I'll adjust! I'm also going to be volunteering in Chloe's classroom again. It's something that I look forward to every year! I like getting to know the kids and the teacher and also having that relationship with the teacher. It makes the school year easier when I know what's going on and don't have to rely on Chloe to pass on information. I will try and update more often. It's hard to see on such a little screen :) I also mentioned earlier that Brandon's grandparents are coming for a visit. They are actually going to Charleston and Savannah the week of Labor day. Chloe will be in school that week but the weekend we are really looking forward to spending time with them. We're hopefully going to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant the lady and Sons and hopefully doing the trolley tour! It should be an exciting weekend! Well, I hope everyone has a great week. We're busy little bees! Even after soccer, it won't slow down as the holidays are approaching quickly! take care everyone :)
