Things have been a little crazy...

Once again, we have no internet! :(

We sold our computer to our friends who moved. She needed it and we technically didn't have internet. We were stealing, um, borrowing our neighbors internet and we knew it wouldn't last forever. We won't need a new one computer until after our move anyway, so it's all good :) Now I'm back at the community center using their computers. I haven't been on here in about 2.5 weeks. Miss me?! We have been busy planning our move to California. Plotting and planning, dreaming and what not... We went to a smooth move class a couple of weeks ago. It's provided to anyone who is moving, either with TMO (Traffic Management Office- the USMC movers) or doing a DITY (Do IT Yourself) move. They gave us all kinds of information on everything from managing our finances to walking us through the TMO process. We, of course, are doing TMO because we plan on going to Kentucky for a couple weeks before we head out west. We have no idea when we will be able to get back to Ky so we are taking the opportunity to go before the move. Our plans are as follows:

March 1: Set up TMO pack up dates. Give housing our 30 day notice. Schedule a pre-inspection for our house.

March 1-30: Take care of anything that housing says we need to fix, which should be next to nothing! Pack/set aside things that TMO is NOT to take. We will bring these with us in our truck. There are certain things you just don't want TMO to touch because you may never see it again. Pathetic, I know!

April 2 or 3: Have final inspection and turn in keys.

April 3: Leave for Kentucky.

April 19: Leave for California.

And these are our plans for while we are driving cross country:

Mon. April 19: Go from Georgetown, Ky to Springfield, Mo. Stay in a hotel in Springfield.

Tues. April 20: Go from Springfield, Mo to Oklahoma City, Ok. We are only stopping here for lunch and to see the OK City bombing site! We are excited about this because we will be there just ONE day after the actual day it happened. April 19, 1995. Crazy to think that it's already been 15 years.

From Oklahoma City, Ok we will travel a few hours down the road to Amarillo, Tx. We will stay in a hotel in Amarillo.

Wed. April 21: Go from Amarillo, Tx to Flagstaff, Az. (We will drive all the way through NEw Mexico!) Stay in a hotel in Flagstaff.

Thurs. April 22: Go from Flagstaff, Az to a couple hours north to the GRAND CANYON!!! We are going to get to see the Grand Canyon! I never thought I would get to see it! It will be the first time for all of us so that is going to be one amazing memory that I will have with my family! And I am loving that Chloe is old enough to remember this stuff, too! We will have lunch somewhere near the Grand Canyon and then visit there for a while and make sure we get a ton of pictures! Then we will get back on the road and head to Kingman, Az. Kingman, Az is right in the heart of Route 66! I have always heard of Route 66 but never really understood what all the fuss was about. I will have to do my research before we leave! Stay in a hotel in Kingman.

Fri. April 23: Go from Kingman, Az to Camp Pendleton, Ca. If we leave Kingman at a descent hour, we should get to Camp Pendleton right after lunch. That leaves us plenty of daylight to learn the base and get acquainted with our new surroundings! We will be staying at a hotel on base at least through Sunday night. Hopefully on Monday, housing will tell us they have a house for us! We will pray!

The drive is going to be rough! We've never been in a car for that long, for that many days but we are so excited! Brandon is more excited about getting off Parris Island. And I can't say that I blame him. He gets treated so horribly here! I hope California is better for him physically and mentally! We are praying for the best!

Some things we are looking forward to in Kentucky:
-Prenatal appt with Maria! She will be around 16 weeks by the time she goes back! I can't wait to go! This is her third pregnancy and I have never been able to go to an appt with her! Hopefully we will hear the heartbeat! I want to record it! For me and her! I can't wait to be an aunt again. Although I can assure you, we won't be able to come home for the birth of this baby! She's due at the end of September. So hopefully at Christmas I will be able to meet him or her!

-Going to Louisville hopefully! We really want to go to the Cheesecake Factory and have a day to just go out and have fun and do something we've not done before. Hopefully Maria and Brandon and Ella can go with us. One last fun thing for me to do with my bestie :)

-Ella Grace's first birthday! I cannot believe it's already been a year since she was born. She's growing up so fast and I just can't wait until her party! Her mommy and I are going to do some shopping for her when we get home. Her party is going to be April 10 as of right now!

-Easter! We love going home for holidays or family gatherings! The food is great, the family is even better. Brandon has the best family and we always, always look forward to spending time with them! And last year we were home for Easter for the first time in a couple years and Chloe had the best time! She loves being able to spend time with her cousins! And she's got lots of them... first, second and thirds :)

-We are planning on visiting my granny that lives in another town, as well as an aunt that used to be like a mother to me.

-And most importantly, we're going to visit Andrew and Brandon's Nannie! Andrew has been gone since Dec. 2007 and Nannie since Sept. 2008. It seems just like yesterday for both of them and we miss them like crazy!

-Church! We love and miss our church family and have the best preacher! It's a little country church in Sadieville and can't find anything like it, no matter where we live. Hopefully we will find a great church in Cali. I really miss going and wish we lived in Kentucky again! I get so homesick, sometimes.

I think that's about it right now. I'm sure things will come up while we're there! We are trying to watch our finances, because even though we still have all of our income tax return and are going to be paid a substantial amount of money to move to Cali, we want to save as much as we can. Brandon may be deploying soon after we get there and we want to have money to do things before he leaves. And Chloe's birthday will be soon after we move so we are going to have to do something super cool for her since she probably won't know anyone enough to invite them to a party! So it will just be us and our princess this year for her birthday! She has already said she wants a Wizards of Waverly Place themed birthday!

Brandon has already started on his re-enlistment package! It should be finalized soon and then he can pick a date to re-enlist! Yay! Too bad there is no bonus :(

Valentine's day was the other day! We had a great day! The day before, MCCS was having a Kids Night at the Movies so the parents could go on a date :) Chloe had so much fun! Brandon and I went to Bluffton and had dinner at Cheeburger Cheeburger and went to the movies as well. We saw Valentine's Day and it was so funny! Can't wait to buy that when it comes out!

Hopefully I will be able to get back up here soon and update more often. I will keep you posted on our move :)
