Ramblings for last week

Chloe's soccer camp went very well this past week. Hopefully she will carry this with her when she starts soccer next month. This will be her THIRD season! It's crazy to think that: a) she's old enough to play soccer for three seasons and b) that we've been on Parris Island for three seasons. That's way too many! Each year she gets better and better so we're excited to see what this season holds. Brandon got volunteered [by me!] to be a coach! He can decline if he wants. He's having his hip surgery next Monday [the 20th] and his recovery time is 6 weeks. That will put us right at the start of soccer. So we'll see! Here are some more pics of Chloe's soccer camp :)

Chloe also went to the doctor last Friday for her 6 year check up. She weighs 66 lbs and is 45 inches tall. She's growing so fast! School is starting soon. August 17! She has just over a month left of summer break. The first weekend in August we're going to go school shopping. Unfortunately Galer has switched to uniforms. That means Chloe is getting a whole new uniform this year. Navy blue or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, or dresses, and red, white or navy blue polo shirts. I'm not happy about this at all. I voted against it. I think because they are a military school you don't have to deal with all the problems you might incur in a public school. That's just my opinion! Anyway, we're going in August because they have a tax free weekend the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday every year in August. It's good for clothes and shoes, school supplies and certain electronics. Now is the time to buy a computer because it's considered a school supply :) You can google tax free weekend and it gives you the specifics. Too bad Kentucky doesn't have this! All our family and friends could really use this. The tax isn't that much but it adds up!

Well, I hope everyone has a great week! We don't have much going on. Chloe has the Summer Movie Club on Thursday. There's only this one and next week and it's over. Brandon's mom and aunt come on Sunday. His mom wanted to be here for his surgery and she doesn't like to travel by herself so his Aunt Carolyn is coming. They are only going to be here until Tuesday. We're excited to see them but wish they were staying longer!
